Our objective is to enhance the biodiversity of the two Abbey Fields properties, and to this end we are undertaking a wide variety of actions including developing site management plans, establishing monitoring, and seeking out expert advice on suitable approaches.

To date our efforts have included:

• Putting up a variety of bird boxes

• Putting up an even larger number of bat boxes

• Creating reptile refugia

• Trialling techniques to improve the quantity and variety of wildflowers on Long Meadow

• Undertaking winter vegetation management works to enhance habitat. As we get better information we will respond to this by adjusting this aspect of site management.
