New Trustee joins the Board

At the HIGS AGM on Saturday 21st March 2026 Claire Wilson was elected as a trustee of the charity.

Claire started her career in practical nature conservation working as a trainee conservation officer with the wildlife trust and developing fundamental skills in plant and habitat surveying, land management advice, and engagement with landowners, volunteers, and the general public.

A long term resident, Claire has been part of the HIGS flora survey team and is looking forward to bringing her strong interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills to the trustee Board.

Katharine Holliday, chair of the charity, welcomed Claire on her election and was pleased that the Board now had a voice from among our younger members.

Nick Bailey and Dave Dives were re-elected to serve a second term on the Board; their continued involvement on the Board is much appreciated.

The Board thanked David Parkin, who retired during the year, for his contribution to the charity as a trustee, in particular for his sound suggestions and challenge in the Board’s deliberations.

Details of the current Trustee Board are here.
