Auction of Promises

Note: Items may be updated, added or removed before 16th May 2023.

1. Histon Football Club offers a match ball sponsorship for one game next season including boardroom hospitality for two people. The promise includes - entry, car parking, and your name on the programme.

2. A 2-hour Bikeability Cycling session for up to three adults. Learn-to-Ride, Rusty Rider or Route-Finding. National Standards Cycling Instructor, in Cycling UK’s Top 100 Women in Cycling 2020! Yes, our very own Nikki Searle.

3. A vintage afternoon tea by Moira Neal, with a glass of Prosecco for 4 in a 1940's style Summerhouse beside the wildlife rich east Pond at Croft Close Set-aside.

4. The very talented Bogusia Jenking offers 12 delicious beautifully crafted cupcakes for that special occasion.  Negotiate a design to fit with your party.

5. Porsche/Ferrari taxi ride donated by Anthony Jenking. For that special occasion or just as a joy ride!  Anthony can take one or two people depending on the choice of car. There may be an example car on display on the night.

6. Unique authentic Mexican home cooked meal experience for four people in the cook's home in Histon. Have the benefit of Josh's immersion in Mexican cookery in the USA! Donated by Josh Reed - also known as the manager of The Boot!

7. Bogusia Jenking offers an exquisitely decorated 8-inch four layer sponge cake for that special occasion, to be decorated and flavoured to winner’s specification. See the display on the night.

8. Penny Reeves a local photographic journalist (in her spare time) of people, events and wildlife. Penny offers you an outside photographic session, of up to 10 images, of you or your family in and around the village. One for the history books! See her work here.

9. Half-day at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone which includes you driving a Porsche on a variety of tracks and surfaces! Voucher donated by Anthony Jenking. Two vouchers available valid from the 12th September 2023 to the 6th October 2023.

10. Five sessions of tutoring in primary school level English or Maths by Rhian Bond, previously working as a deputy primary school head. It’s never too late!

11. An amazing 8th generation iPad (model A2270) with 128GB RAM has been donated by Anthony Jenking. Reset & cleaned up. Still has AppleCare (covers accidental damage & warranties.) until 31 May 2023 which can be renewed.

12. Amy Murrell is a creative lifestyle photographer based in London - with an armful of famous clients from Westminster Abbey to Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust. Amy offers a one-hour family photoshoot in the village with 15 digital images. Capture the present for the future!

13. Early morning bird spotting in the hide of the East Pond at Croft Close Set-aside - better known as Moira Neal’s kitchen! - with a bacon butty for two adults. See Moira’s Facebook page for more details.

14. A bottle of House of Commons white wine signed by Rishi Sunak - who can resist?!

15. Erika Hunt is a local garden designer, offering a session of advice, inspiration and practical suggestions for your garden. Need planting ideas for a challenging border or help improving the layout, start bidding! See her website for more details of Erika’s work.

16. The essential Cambridge accessory has been donated. A Paragon Python, 21 speed ladies hybrid bicycle with an 18in, 7005 alloy frame and 700 x 38c wheels. It weighs approximately 32lbs. Very low mileage! Donated by Hilary Biddle

17. A small group tour of Impington Mill & Garden courtesy of Pippa & Steve Temple. Climb to the top balcony and survey the neighbourhood. Hear about the 500-year history and the near complete restoration of the mill, and garden haven. Wine with Pippa & Steve included.

18. Three signed copies of the adventures of Fitz and Will, the now famous Cambridge Cats - at the May Ball, the Graduation and the Boat Race!! The successful bid will include the loan of the giant Fitz and Will mascots for a day! Donated by Katherine Mann.

20. Helena Perry, local artist, offers an A3 Giclée  print of an original oil painting exploring the bark, texture and colour of the Wise Old Oak in Abbey Fields signed by the artist.
