Young Persons Photography Competition 2023
The Judges
There are three judges as follows:
David Jenkins - chair of the panel
David has been a County Councillor, a parish councillor for Histon & Impington and a trustee at the Eastern Learning Alliance (the academy trust which runs IVC). He is currently a trustee of Histon & Impington Green Spaces. David has been a keen photographer for many years. He started in the days of film when mistakes were expensive! He says that he doesn't define himself by a particular genre but that he uses photography as a means of chronicling his life. You can see examples of David's photography here
Dinah Northfield
Co-Founder and Chair of the charity Cambridgeshire Wildlife Care, Dinah is a keen amateur wildlife and nature photographer - you may have seen many of her photographs on the Histon & Impington Wildlife Facebook group.
As the daughter of an entomologist, she was brought up with a passion for insects and small creatures.
A keen supporter of Abbey Fields and the home it provides for our wildlife.
Martin Minařík
Martin is a biologist and a keen amateur birdwatcher and herper*. He spends his spare time photographing local birds during the day, and recording their migration calls at night. He also loves microscopy - his photos of animal embryos were previously featured at postcards issued by the Company of Biologists, and awarded 1st place in the Science is Beautiful competition organised by Charles University in Prague.
*herper: a reptile and amphibian enthusiast.
