Art session at Croft Close Set-aside

“Drawing yourself into the present moment” led by Helena Perry

“Let me guide you through some of the processes I use to create artwork in this 2 hour workshop. Starting with meditation and then using drawing as a way of getting present, I will take you through a series of exercises to challenge your perception, ways of looking and responding to this beautiful wild place. You don’t need any experience in drawing or meditation, although this workshop is suitable for all levels. Rather than leaving with one finished piece, you will go, equipped with several ways of literally drawing yourself into the present moment, methods to explore further and a feeling of deep calm.”

We will meet at the Croft Close entrance to the Set-aside (CB24 9HU). Note, there is no car parking here. Please come dressed for the weather, with stout footwear, also fingerless gloves might be good. Bring your own camp chair/stool if you have one, we will have some available if not. There will be the opportunity to have a hot drink midway through the session.

Tickets for the event cost £5 and are available by clicking on the button below. Numbers will be limited to 15 so that each participant can get individual attention.

Histon artist, Helena’s artwork invites you to connect with nature. The process of creation and hopefully the outcome is meditative. Conservation, wellbeing and inner states of being are central to her work.

The workshop is subsidised by HI Friends as part of the Histon & Impington Wellbeing Festival 2023.
