Croft Close’s wildlife – an inspiration. The view from my kitchen and how it Inspired a quilt talk by Moira Neal

  • Cambridge Music Centre (old Infant School) New School Road, Histon, CB24 9LL (map)

Living beside Croft Close Nature Reserve has given Moira Neal the opportunity to photograph her wild neighbours and take inspiration for her many creative activities.

In her talk, Moira will express her passion for the nature she observes from her kitchen window and their secret lives when (they think) no one is looking.

During lockdown, sitting at her kitchen table, Moira started to photograph the wildlife visiting her garden and nearby pond. Her kitchen is like a private hide from which to observe the behaviours of the animals and birds that come by. She has captured many stunning pictures as you will see.

Illness forced her into discovering a whole new world of imagination which unlocked the humour of the living things right on her doorstep. Hear how this inspired a quilt to permanently capture their antics.

Nature has the power to capture all our imaginations – this talk will show what is possible, even if few of us could take it to this level!

  • Doors open at 7pm with the presentation to start at 7:30pm.

  • Tickets for the event are available in advance here or on the door on the night.

    • Adults - £5, Under 18s - £3

  • There will be a raffle on the night.

All proceeds will go to Histon & Impington Green Spaces charity number 1195616.
