How much do you need to raise?

How much have you raised so far?
We have just launched our fundraising campaign and will soon be providing live updates. So far, we’ve had about £175k in pledges and generous supporters are now converting those pledges to donations. We welcome any donations large or small - please click here for more information.
How can I help out?
If you have time and enthusiasm, we could use your help. We’re looking for volunteers to help with fundraising, grant applications, practical management of the land etc etc! If you’re interested, please get in touch.
Do you have plans to buy more land in the future?
This depends on you! If we succeed at this first venture, and there is appetite from the village, we’d love to preserve more land around the village. As you can appreciate, this is an expensive and costly undertaking, so we need to prove it is possible with Abbey Fields first!
Why were so few people allowed to join the AFTFG?
The purchase process was very sensitive with multiple parties involved and a desire to protect identities. We were asked by several of these parties to restrict the number of people involved to ensure that the process could move forward as quickly as possible and minimise the risk of leaks. Under the circumstances, the T&FG respected the wishes of those involved and committed to open the process up as soon as possible when the purchase was complete. The first step on this road was the Village Meeting on 10th June 2021, and we have now created a Friends Group to allow anyone to get involved.
