Site Management Opportunities
We are always looking for help with hands-on activities to manage the Abbey Fields sites. Sometimes we need volunteers with specific skills, other times all that is needed is enthusiasm and a willingness to work to direction. We provide training, if needed, for all routine activities; sometimes as with wildlife recording this might involve mentoring long term.
Currently we are looking for assistance with:
Croft Close paths
Regular trimming vegetation back along the main paths |
|
Putting up bat boxes and large bird boxes
We have some bat boxes to be fixed in suitable location |
|
Park Lane hedge trimming
Regularly trimming the hedge alongside the footpath/cycle path |
|
Wildlife surveys
Help us find out what flora, fauna and funga are present at Abbey Fields |
|
Autumn and winter are the main times when we undertake intensive site management activities. For the rest of the year maintenance activities are generally light.
